365 Days as an Ogden!

This day last year was one of the best days of my life! Not only did I finally get to marry my best friend, but I also got to spend that exciting time of our lives with our closes family and friends, AND have the biggest dance party ever. The hubs doesn't get enough shout outs in my crazy business world, so I am so happy to share a post solely about him and us and this special day! Nothing makes me happier than being this guys wife, and this year has been nothing short of amazing. Of course there have been the picture perfect moments (like these amazing ones below from Elisabeth Carol Photography), but as with any blossoming marriage there was plenty of learning and not so pretty moments too. But all of it is part of our journey and our story together, so it couldn't be more beautiful!

Our wedding day was a perfectly sunny September day that I will never forget! I am sure you are shocked to hear that I did all of our paper products, signage, and little details for our wedding day :) I had so much fun bringing the vision to life and basically making our wedding decor my full time job. Wooooops! Our wedding colors were black and white with pops of gold, deep reds, blush pinks, and lots of greenery! So for our invitations, I knew I wanted to have a black outer envelope with white calligraphy, because it is my all time favorite combination! I used a watercolor floral pattern as an accent throughout our papers which brought that bright color that I love so much!

We had an amazing team of vendors that made the day happen seamlessly and beautifully, you can find the full team listed below the photo reel!

Cheers to our first year, and here's to many many more!

A fun way to incorporate some of the bride and grooms personality into the wedding invitation suite is to add a list of places that the bride and groom love! On ours, we included some restaurants, bars, and favorite places to go in Dallas!

The Leafgrens | White Sparrow Barn Wedding - Wedding Spotlight

I can't believe I haven't blogged this wedding already, as it was a showstopper! Sarah and Kyle got married on October 25, 2015 at the White Sparrow Barn, and oh man was it gorgeous! I was lucky enough not only to create their wedding invitation suite, but I also got to do some fun stuff for their day-of decor for the ceremony and reception!

The wedding invitation suite featured some of my favorite Italian paper that has subtle torn edges, a simple calligraphy and garland design, and gorgeous marsala ink for all of the calligraphy addresses! So dreamy. Then, I got to do some calligraphy place card for their head table, and my favorite, a custom hand lettered fabric piece to hang over them as they said their vows! It was such a fun custom piece that could not only be incorporated in their wedding, but then was something that they could hang in their new home together! I am all about that :) Enjoy the lovely photos by Dyan Kethley below, and you can find the entire team of vendors at the very end!

Cheers to Sarah and Kyle!

In today's wedding trends, brides and planners work to create beautiful and cohesive designs, where everything goes together seamlessly! From the flowers, to the table decor, to the save the dates and invitations, everything reflects that overall design. In the latest issue of Brides of North Texas, I took part in a shoot that was all about that idea of seamless designs. However, this time around, the invitation designers came up with a wedding suite, and then got paired up with a cake designer who took that invitation suite as inspiration for a gorgeous cake! I loved working on this shoot, and was so happy to be paired up with Sugar Bee Sweets for this particular design!

Watercolor wedding invitations with a custom wedding crest. This suite had a summer pomegranate theme that was incorporated throughout.

This design was allllll about the pomegranates. Everything on these paper pieces was hand painted in watercolor to give it an organic and fresh feel. The color scheme of pinks, purples, and mint green gave it that early spring vibe I was hoping for! And now, drumroll please....the cake to match!

How perfect is that? Look at the hand painted details to match the watercolor details on the invitation suite! And that tiny little silver foiled tier....so good. Here are a few more closeup images of the suite! One of my favorite parts, the hand painted wedding crest!
