Styled Shoot

Tropical Wedding Inspiration

With summer on its way out the door for a while, I thought I'd take this time to share some amazing summer wedding inspiration before its totally irrelevant during the months of summer hibernation :) This styled shoot was done with Brides of North Texas Magazine as a wedding gown editorial; aka, there were several beautiful wedding gowns featured, all shown with different floral/hair/jewelry styles - but all equally jaw dropping inspiration for the summer bride! Also featured in the shoot was a fun modern and tropical paper suite (done by yours truly, of course!) that helped set the tone for this fabulous event. My favorite part of the whole shoot was the wedding program that was hand lettered on a large tropical leaf to keep with the theme. It was one of a kind and so so fun to work on! Enjoy the images from this beautiful shoot, and you can find the full list of vendors below!

Summer wedding bouquet filled with pinks and deep reds.
Cute little boutonnieres all different but tropical! And how gorgeous is that tulle gown?!
The invitation suite featured watercolored leaves along with pops of hot pink and gold.
No need to incorporate calligraphy lettering into the actual paper pieces in your suite, especially when you are going for that modern look.

The invitation suite was designed to be a very modern and sleek set to go along with the theme and dresses in this shoot. Watercolor tropical leaves and pops of hot pink are paired with gold patterns. The fonts are very minimalistic and simple, and the calligraphy is only featured on the outer envelope along with vintage stamps to add the personal and unique touch!

Decorated macarons are the perfect way to add a delicate touch to your dessert table.

Mediterranean Styling at the Mansion

This has to be one of the most gorgeous and LUSH styled shoots I have ever been a part of. Lottie Fowler at Grit and Gold Weddings did a fantastic job creating this vision of shoot! I was absolutely blown away by the cascading floral from the table (by Lush Couture Floral), with the gorgeous coral and terracotta backdrop of the Rosewood Mansion. This venue in and of itself is a piece of art, with its 16th century Renaissance influence in the architecture. It was the perfect backdrop for this shoot! I created a timeless invitation suite, featuring gorgeous torn edged paper, copper ink, calligraphy, vintage dreamy! I love a how a simple invitation suite can go such a long way. With beautiful lettering being the focus, no crazy designs or patterns were needed! I also created a bar menu sign that was lettered on a piece of marble slab. The cocktail station set up is just to die for - I wish this is what my bar cart at home looked like...don't you?! Feast your eyes on the amazing images below (shot by Taylor Lord) - you will not be disappointed! Complete vendor team listed below images.

Sweets + Suites: Summery Pom

In today's wedding trends, brides and planners work to create beautiful and cohesive designs, where everything goes together seamlessly! From the flowers, to the table decor, to the save the dates and invitations, everything reflects that overall design. In the latest issue of Brides of North Texas, I took part in a shoot that was all about that idea of seamless designs. However, this time around, the invitation designers came up with a wedding suite, and then got paired up with a cake designer who took that invitation suite as inspiration for a gorgeous cake! I loved working on this shoot, and was so happy to be paired up with Sugar Bee Sweets for this particular design!

Watercolor wedding invitations with a custom wedding crest. This suite had a summer pomegranate theme that was incorporated throughout.

This design was allllll about the pomegranates. Everything on these paper pieces was hand painted in watercolor to give it an organic and fresh feel. The color scheme of pinks, purples, and mint green gave it that early spring vibe I was hoping for! And now, drumroll please....the cake to match!

How perfect is that? Look at the hand painted details to match the watercolor details on the invitation suite! And that tiny little silver foiled good. Here are a few more closeup images of the suite! One of my favorite parts, the hand painted wedding crest!
