365 Days as an Ogden!

This day last year was one of the best days of my life! Not only did I finally get to marry my best friend, but I also got to spend that exciting time of our lives with our closes family and friends, AND have the biggest dance party ever. The hubs doesn't get enough shout outs in my crazy business world, so I am so happy to share a post solely about him and us and this special day! Nothing makes me happier than being this guys wife, and this year has been nothing short of amazing. Of course there have been the picture perfect moments (like these amazing ones below from Elisabeth Carol Photography), but as with any blossoming marriage there was plenty of learning and not so pretty moments too. But all of it is part of our journey and our story together, so it couldn't be more beautiful!

Our wedding day was a perfectly sunny September day that I will never forget! I am sure you are shocked to hear that I did all of our paper products, signage, and little details for our wedding day :) I had so much fun bringing the vision to life and basically making our wedding decor my full time job. Wooooops! Our wedding colors were black and white with pops of gold, deep reds, blush pinks, and lots of greenery! So for our invitations, I knew I wanted to have a black outer envelope with white calligraphy, because it is my all time favorite combination! I used a watercolor floral pattern as an accent throughout our papers which brought that bright color that I love so much!

We had an amazing team of vendors that made the day happen seamlessly and beautifully, you can find the full team listed below the photo reel!

Cheers to our first year, and here's to many many more!

A fun way to incorporate some of the bride and grooms personality into the wedding invitation suite is to add a list of places that the bride and groom love! On ours, we included some restaurants, bars, and favorite places to go in Dallas!

Colorado Mountain Elopement | Darnell Wedding Spotlight

How do I even begin to explain my love for this invitation suite? It's the Patrick to my Spongebob, the cream to my Oreo, the chocolate to my croissant. Okay now I'm getting hungry so let's just talk pretty papers :) Lindsay and Matt were some REAL fun clients, and I was thrilled to work with them from the second Lindsay started telling my about their wedding plans! Together with a small group of their close friends and family, the couple hiked one of their favorite trails in Silverton, Colorado, which led them to the gorgeous Ice Lake. It was at this stunning location that they exchanged their vows and made it official! After their intimate hike/campout trip becoming Mr. and Mrs., they planned a celebration back home in Dallas with all of their friends and family who weren't there for the hike!

We packed this invitation set with TONS of personalized touches that meant something special to the couple. The main card is the party invitation for their reception back in Dallas after the wedding. However, Lindsay wanted me to create a custom watercolor map of their hike that could later be used as artwork in their home. This watercolor map includes the spot that they stopped to camp, trail details, and of course pretty mountain and wildflower graphics! One of the couples favorite things about this trail is how it is covered in amazing Colorado wildflowers, all bright and colorful! Lindsay wanted to incorporate these wildflowers into the design, which you can see in several places in the paper suite! The bright yellow outer envelope was the perfect pop of color to bring out those wildflowers throughout!

Scroll through the images below to see all of the pieces from this special suite, and read about some other fun details the couple incorporated!

Another special part of this invitation suite was on the back of the map card. This is a special quote to the bride and she wanted it to be incorporated somewhere so that guests could keep it as a small memento and have it as an art print for themselves!

This map card doubled as a memento for guests to keep as a small piece of art. The couple wanted a meaningful quote to them lettered on the back. The front of the card was a custom watercolor of the trail they hiked to their ceremony location.

Custom watercolor maps add a very unique and personalized touch to your wedding invitations! This suite had a custom watercolor map of the trail that they hiked to their wedding ceremony location at the Ice Lake in Silverton, Colorado.

The belly band that was wrapped around the entire suite is actually a topographic map of the area that they hiked! You can see the different little lakes scattered throughout, one of them actually being the Ice Lake that they had their wedding ceremony at! Loved incorporating that fun detail into the suite!

Ridglea Country Club | Fort Worth, TX | Williford Wedding Spotlight

Sarah and Dale's traditional and classic wedding took place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fort Worth, followed by a fun reception at the Ridglea Country Club! This wedding is always fun for me to look back on, because Sarah had so many fun details she wanted to incorporate into her wedding papers! She wanted classic wedding invitations paired with gorgeous envelopes, and what we ended up with was absolutely perfect for her special day! All of her paper pieces were printed in gold foil, which just adds a serious level of wow/amazingess/preeetttyyy! Who doesn't love shiny gold text flashing on the paper?!
